Required for September 2017, a highly motivated and inspirational Head of Religious Education. 

The turnaround of St Mark’s Church of England Academy has been dramatic. Only four years ago, our very future was in question. Yet as our 2012 Ofsted inspection showed, we are already well on our journey towards Outstanding status. In this role, you can play a big part in the next chapter of our remarkable success story. 

Through your drive, dynamic approach and vision, you will aim to make an inspirational contribution. We are now looking for an enthusiastic, creative lead practitioner to join our innovative and supportive Humanities Department.

The Humanities team at St. Mark’s is an extremely forward thinking, creative department who are committed to promoting student leadership and finding innovative ways to support and challenge students. For successful applicants there is a TLR post. 

The successful applicant will be an excellent teacher of Religious Education, who is committed to enthusing young people and improving their life chances. The successful applicant should have the ability both to teach and lead their team of teachers delivering A Level.

St Mark’s C of E Academy is a vibrant and diverse 11-18 academy situated in Mitcham in the London Borough of Merton. The school was inspected by Ofsted in February 2023 and remains consistently 'Good', with her majesty's inspectors determining that there is substantial evidence to demonstrate that the school could be re-graded to Outstanding, within the next 24 months.
