Oundle School is one of the country’s premier co-educational boarding and day schools, with 860 boarding and 260 day pupils. Sport is highly valued and flourishes at Oundle. The School prides itself in its pursuit of sporting excellence and elite performance, competing in local, regional and national competitions across a wide range of sports and age groups.
Pupils participate in a minimum of three sports afternoons per week, and can train up to five times with their team on top of individual training programmes. We provide competitive and recreational opportunities for our students and support those who show great potential through our 13+ and 16+ Scholarship, as well as dedicated support from our coaches, academic staff and pastoral team.
The School believes that as many pupils as possible should have an opportunity to represent the School at rugby. To this end, Oundle turns out six regular Sixth Form teams, four U16 teams, four U15 teams and as many as six U14 teams for boys. In addition, there is a growing number of girls playing rugby and there is currently one senior girls’ squad representing the School. This gives every pupil a sense of pride in playing for a team.
Oundle plays a large and extensive fixture list that comprises many of the well-known traditional rugby schools, such as Radley, Harrow, Oakham, Haileybury, Rugby and Uppingham.
To start in September 2018, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced coach to join us as Head of Rugby.
