Head of Safeguarding, Attendance, Behaviour & Culture

St Joseph MAT is a growing Trust dedicated to providing high-quality education to all of our students. We are seeking a Head of Safeguarding, Attendance, Behaviour and Culture to lead the development and implementation of our safeguarding policies and procedures, as well as promoting high standards in attendance and a positive, inclusive student culture. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all of our schools are fully compliant with statutory safeguarding requirements, whilst also taking a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential risks to our students. You will work closely with school leaders, staff and external agencies to promote a culture of high vigilance and awareness of safeguarding issues. 

In addition, you will ensure that attendance across the Trust is monitored carefully and that strategies are in place to keep rates high. You will take a lead role in developing initiatives and interventions to support students who may be struggling with attendance, working with school staff and families to identify and resolve any underlying issues. 

Finally, as Head of Student Culture, you will ensure that our schools have a welcoming, inclusive and positive ethos, facilitating an environment where all students can thrive. This will include the development and implementation of strategies to promote positive student behaviour, as well as supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students. 

The successful candidate will have: 

• A proven track record of leading safeguarding initiatives in a complex organisation 
• Experience of implementing effective attendance strategies 
• A thorough understanding of current safeguarding legislation and regulations 
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills 
• Strong leadership and management abilities 
• Commitment to the ethos and values of St Joseph Catholic MAT.

This role is based at the CMAT offices on Mann Island, Regus in Liverpool, however you will be expected to travel to the academies across the Trust on a regular basis.
