St Edmund’s Nursery School is a larger than average, vibrant and thriving school in the heart of the Girlington area of Bradford. We are open from 7.45 to 5.45 all year round to support working parents and their children from Birth to five, alongside offering free places for two and three year olds. We are resourced by the local authority to provide specialist places for children with profound and complex special educational needs and are also a Local Authority designated Centre of Good Practice for New Arrivals.
Our Executive headteacher also leads Lilycroft Nursery School for Children from Birth to five with whom work closely.
In addition St Edmund’s leads the cluster of seven children’s centres for West Bradford and is a designated Teaching School leading the Bradford Birth to 19 Teaching School Alliance. We are also part of the designated School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider -the Bradford Birth to 19 SCITT.
Initially the successful candidate will immerse themselves in the Nursery school getting to know our wonderful children and families as well how the school works and working with our multi-talented staff involved in making it an outstanding organisation.
At an appropriate time the Head of School will get involved in some of the wider work the school is involved in alongside the Executive headteacher, the school’s Business and Strategic Development Manager, the Children’s Centre Cluster leader the Head of Teaching School and Head of Initial Teacher Training.
The successful candidate should hold qualified teacher status (QTS) and have leadership and early year’s experience. They will have an awareness of system leadership and the wider school and setting improvement agenda. They must be committed to ‘going the extra mile’ to support the aims of the organisation and, above all, have a vision for developing provision across whole communities.
This is a unique and immensely rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.
