Trinity Church of England Primary School

Princes Plain

Bromley

BR2 8LD

Age Range:  2 – 11                 Start Date: September 2017                    Indicative Salary:  £59,605 - £65,334

Trinity Church of England Primary School is a thriving, caring and inclusive school focused on “excellence for all” and where “only our best will do!"  Every member of staff is wholly committed to ensuring that every child is happy, valued and well cared for through an imaginative and vibrant curriculum.

Ofsted has acknowledged that the school is good.  It includes: full primary provision, a maintained nursery for pupils from 2 to 4 years, and 3 resource-based classrooms for 30 children with severe learning difficulties.  We are a growing school and currently have three forms of entry from Reception to Year 2, and two forms of entry from Years 3 to 6.

The school became an academy on 1st January 2015 as part of the Aquinas Church of England Education Trust.  Aquinas is a distinctive community of academies with a shared purpose and strong Christian ethos.  It is committed to mutual support in pursuit of the highest possible standards for children and young people, educating the whole person.  Whilst it is a Trust with one mission, each academy exists in its own right maintaining its own unique characteristics and individual identity within the community it serves.

We are looking for a Head of School who is able to lead and inspire our pupils and staff to achieve excellence.  As part of Aquinas the successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team of Heads who meet termly as the Educational Leadership Board with the CEO, effecting change and influencing educational practice across the Trust.

Our new Head of School will be an outstanding primary practitioner with an excellent record of teaching across all ranges, and a proven ability to secure the best outcomes for all.  The successful candidate should be able to focus on building a safe learning environment, and a rigorous culture of continued professional development for all colleagues.

Line managed by an Executive Headteacher, the Head of School will have a senior leadership team consisting of a Deputy Headteacher, three Assistant Headteachers and a School Business Manager.  The Trust provides central services including Finance, HR and Health and Safety.  This allows the Executive Head, Head of School and Senior Leadership Team to fully utilise their areas of expertise and focus on the school's teaching and learning development work.  The Head of School will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the school.

The school is also strongly supported by an excellent Academy Advisory Council which is made up of skilled and committed members who have both implemented and supported recent positive changes.

This post represents an extremely exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to develop their leadership skills within a very strong and supportive professional network.  Such support would provide a colleague or experienced leader with an excellent platform to explore their next steps within senior leadership.

Closing date: 11th May 2017

Interviews: 18th and 19th May 2017

Visits to the school are encouraged.  To make an appointment call the school office on  020 8315 8149 or email HR@aquinastrust.org.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
