Job overview

We are actively seeking a qualified and experienced preschool director who will oversee the daily operations and administration of Sprogs Garden Playschool. The candidate will have school leadership experience and expertise in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education. The preschool director’s responsibilities will include recruitment, professional training and management of staff and staffing schedules, marketing and communication, financial management; the creation and revision of school policies and improvement planning; ensuring the provision of health and safety requirements; purchasing of school resources and equipment; and communication with teachers, parents and school management/owner.

We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as a love for children as he or she upholds the vision of our school and ensures that the school meets the relevent local education curriculum requirements, standards and regulations for early childhood centres as outlined in the Cayman Islands Early Years Curriculum framework and the Cayman Islands Education Council Guidelines. The candidate will be required to determine the needs of the preschool, protect the health and safety of children, and collaborate and consult with the Owner of the School as required.

Qualifications and Experience for the position:

  • Degree in early childhood education or a related field required;
  • Professional or masters level qualification in educational leadership preferred
  • Minimum five years experience in a school leadership role preferred.
  • Must qualify for a Cayman Islands License to Teach
