Brave...Collaborative...Adaptable...Love...Positivity...Future-conscious

Do you have these core traits to be a successful change maker and leader at Bader Academy?

We are looking for a Head of School who will lead our academy with vision, passion and positivity. A creative and forward thinker who will inspire and lead their team to deliver outstanding results.

We are proud and excited to be opening the doors to a brand new Special School - Bader Academy. Situated in Doncaster, located in the charming village of Edenthorpe, our academy has been developed to meet the needs of children and young people aged 5-19 years with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) and a primary diagnosis of Communication & Interaction difficulties.

Bader Academy is part of Nexus Multi Academy Trust; an award winning trust founded in 2016. We are well-respected and known for our high standards, exemplary pupil behaviour and a fully inclusive model of education; enabling all children to fulfil their full potential whatever their starting points. Nexus vision of “Learning together; to be the best we can be” supports this model and are lived out in the daily work of the trust and its associated schools.

Our ambition and yours will be that Bader Academy becomes a centre of excellence for both the provision of SEMH and for promoting the latest inclusive practices within education. Our children at Bader deserve an education that will change their lives and give them the opportunity to fulfil their potential, and in turn you and your staff will enjoy a fulfilling career, releasing your potential and maximising your impact.

Our Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated, aspirational and experienced senior leader who believes in the potential of every child; who can turn our vision, ethos and values into a school that inspires pupils, supports parents and carers and delivers benefits to the local community.

You will have the desire to drive positive change, achieving maximum impact by working collaboratively with partners and key stakeholders, while promoting a strong culture of shared practice. You will see challenges as opportunities to make a difference to our children and young people and recognise that change requires a solution-focused approach; with the ability to see the bigger picture, taking a systemic approach to ensure success.

Our purpose built site boasts a multi-use game area (MUGA), generous outdoor areas and significant space inside of the building. These all lend themselves to a creative and innovative leader’s ambition to develop an exciting and vibrant curriculum. As Head of School, you will provide professional leadership and management of the school, promoting excellence and equality, while supporting teachers to deliver the highest standards in terms of achievement and behaviour, while welcoming the challenges of working in a special school.

In many ways this is a unique professional opportunity that will allow you to develop and shape an outstanding provision for our children and young people who require something a little different.

What you can expect

  • An exciting opportunity to join brand new SEND school with a new cohort of pupils.
  • Significant levels of support from the Trust, Executive Headteacher, Local Authority, Governing Body and a staff team.
  • A thriving environment where you will be supported and encouraged to think in new ways.
  • An opportunity to join colleagues who will make you proud to be part of the teaching profession.
  • Access to tailored CPD through Nexus Academies Trust.
  • Working within a MAT who pride themselves as friendly supportive schools who together are helping to transform communities.

Bader Academy has an incredibly bright outlook and presents a unique professional development opportunity for the right candidate.  For an informal, confidential conversation about the role, please call Rachel Wales who is supporting this recruitment process on behalf of Bader Academy and can be contacted at North Yorkshire County Council on 01609 532597 / 07973692529.
