About the role: We are seeking an outstanding Head of School for English and Maths to provide leadership and direction for teaching, for all English and Maths programmes within the Centre for Health, Social and Childcare. You will lead and motivate staff to ensure that students receive outstanding teaching, learning and assessment in the English and Maths area including appropriate additional programmes. You will manage the development and implementation of teaching strategies which result in   high quality active learning opportunities for the students. You will also work with curriculum teams to ensure that English and Maths are embedded into the main vocational curriculum and targets are embedded into students ILPS.   

About you: With degree or equivalent and qualified teacher status, you will have recent successful experience of managing staff including lecturers. You will have experience in successfully delivering English and Maths in work based learning including NVQs and Apprenticeships. An in depth knowledge and understanding of English and Maths programmes from entry through to level 3 including internal qualifications, Functional Skills and GCSE programmes. You will have in depth knowledge of initial and diagnostic assessments and how these impact on student ILPS and progress. …………………………………………………………………………………………………… ‘The Governors of City & Islington and Westminster Kingsway Colleges have announced their intention to merge from 1st August 2016 to create the first College group in London.
