Treloar’s is a national leader in special education. Its specialist residential School and College, based near Alton in Hampshire, have transformed the lives of thousands of profoundly physically disabled young people through programmes of integrated education, care, therapies, medical support and independence training. With its modern campus, creative learning spaces and leading-edge assistive technology hub, Treloar’s enables its 170 students from ages 2 to 26 years to fulfil their potential in every aspect of their lives.

We now seek an exceptional Head of School with extensive experience in special education to lead the School with ambition into the next exciting phase of its development. Reporting to the Principal, Martin Ingram, the next Head of School will drive forward a vision for excellence in an institution which has remained at the forefront of developments in our sector for the past hundred years.

The successful candidate will be a visible, energetic and collaborative leader with a demonstrable track record of successful middle or senior leadership in special education, excellent communication skills and strong presentational abilities. A compelling ambassador for the School externally, the next Head of School will enable our School’s 85 students from 2 to 19 years to achieve their full potential and lead a talented team of specialist staff. A strong personal resonance with the enabling mission of Treloar’s and previous experience within the field of special education is essential.
