The development of Hurtwood House China is an extension of Hurtwood House UK’s commitment to quality and spirit of ingenuity. Hurtwood House China is a pioneer in being the first UK brand to introduce dual immersion curriculum, enabling its students to benefit from the group’s unique offering which educates Chinese students, in a Chinese context, with a truly bilingual-bicultural outlook. Underpinning this ground-breaking project is the group’s motto – Education Creates Character.

The first of the schools operated by Hurtwood House China, (known locally as HD Schools), opened in August 2014 in the city of Ningbo. Since then, schools in Shanghai and Beijing have followed and in August 2018, the group will launch its fourth school, HD Qingdao. The first opening phase of HD Qingdao will take place in August 2018 with the launch of the Primary section of the school with 100 students led by two founding primary principals. The campus occupies an extensive and beautifully well-equipped site that will eventually accommodate up to 2,000 students of whom many will be boarders.

HD Qingdao is located on Xingguang Island, in the West Coast area of the City; the school is part of the new Wanda Oriental Movie Metropolis, a $7billion project, creating a new economic centre and the world’s largest entertainment infrastructure development.

Hurtwood House China now seeks a forward-looking, globally-minded and collaborative educationalist to lead HD Qingdao through its next exciting period of growth.
