Say ‘Yes’ to an Outstanding College! New College was inspected by OfSTED in 2014 and was graded Outstanding in all areas
New College is an outstanding place to work and study and we are seeking to appoint a talented individual to lead and manage our School of Humanities. This vacancy arises due to internal promotion as the College has an enviable reputation for career development of our staff.
The postholder should be an outstanding teacher as well as an innovative and dynamic leader who will lead in developing and raising achievement across the School. The School of Humanities encompasses History, Geography, Geology and Government and Politics and the position of Head of School is a critical one. The successful candidate must be able to teach A Level Geography.
Able to demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for your subject and the ability to motivate and inspire students and staff, you should have a demonstrable record of your commitment to raising achievement, raising aspirations and going the extra mile. You might already be number two in your department, or be a department head looking for a wider role, but we’d be pleased to hear from experienced and excellent teachers of Humanities looking for career advancement. You may currently be working in a College but we’d be just as pleased to receive applications from teachers in 11-19 schools with KS5 experience.
In return, we can offer:
- An outstanding place to work (the college is regularly near the top of UK Sixth Form College results tables).
- An excellent remuneration and reward package for outstanding employees.
- Opportunities for career progression and development.
- Involvement in a number of exciting new projects (eg, Teaching School, Free School development).
- A dynamic, driven and supportive culture for staff and students.
- Excellent benefits.
New College is easy to get to, linked closely to the main motorway network by the M62 and M1 and commutable from Leeds, Wakefield, Sheffield and much of the North of England. The College is currently in the process of setting up a multi-academy trust so there may be the opportunity or need for travelling between multiple sites on occasion.
If you believe that you have the skills and abilities to take on this role, we’d love to hear from you.
