Actual Salary: £61,282 - £66,825 per annum

Full time 32.5 hours, Permanent

Required for September 2019

Do you have successful experience as a Deputy Head or an Assistant Head? You are invited to apply for this remarkable opportunity to work in either school which is due a re-structure and to the promotion of the current post holder to headship. Both schools are happy and thriving and have been in a successful federation since 2011 and are well established in Islington, committed to serving our local community. Both staff teams work collegially and are strong and united.

This will be a permanent appointment so we are looking for the right person for both schools-an active ‘people person’, an excellent communicator who is able to develop effective relationships with the whole school community. We want someone with proven leadership skills and good interpersonal skills who people respond well to. You will be expected to see-through all aspects of the school improvement plan, all school initiatives, policies and procedures and ensure the staff do too. You will seek and be open to innovation and drive vision alongside the Executive head teacher and both leadership teams.

As Head of School of either school you will lead safeguarding, be passionate about teaching, learning and assessment and actively ensure the school you work in runs smoothly.  In St Luke’s Christian values underpin all that we do every day and you will need to be committed to nurturing faith and spirituality and work in close partnerships with 3 local Churches and parishes.  In both schools we literally go the extra mile in ‘Learning for Life’ opportunities we offer children. Preparing them socially, emotionally and physically, giving them the wisdom, knowledge and skills they need for their lives are as important as high educational outcomes. Children are at the heart of everything we do and every decision we make and they are consistently well behaved, motivated and ready to learn. We want every child to have the best possible school experience and start in life. The Head of School role is central to this.

Visits to the school are highly encouraged and can be organised by contacting the schools offices:

• St Luke’s on 020 7253 3880

• Moreland on 020 7253 8144

For an informal discussion, please contact the Executive Head teacher, Ann Dwulit at either school.

You can find out more about our schools by accessing our websites: www.st-lukesislington.co.uk and www.moreland-islington.co.uk.

To apply online, visit the jobs section at www.islington.gov.uk. Alternatively contact the HR Team at schoolsrecruitment@islington.gov.uk quoting reference STL/323.

Closing date: Monday 29th April 2019, 12pm

Interview date: Friday 3rd May 2019

St Luke’s C of E and Moreland Primary Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) with barred list check is required for all successful applicants.
