£53,611 + SEN allowance of £2,106 

37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Sheridan School offers an integrated programme of education and therapy for young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, compounded by complex disorders including Autism.  The age range for our students is from year 4 to year 11 and the school is comprised of Primary, Secondary and ASD provisions.

This is an exciting time to join Priory Group and we are looking for a talented and experienced Head of School to provide vision, professional leadership, management and direction for the school, promoting a secure foundation from which to achieve continuous improvement and high standards in all areas of the school’s work.

What we'd like from you:

Knowledge and experience of working with young people with special needs

Fully qualified experienced teacher with relevant post-graduate qualification together with a sound understanding of the current legislation and statutory regulations relating to education and care

Proven people leadership and management skills within an education setting, including motivating, directing, delegating

You will have sound organisational skills along with financial management skills

The successful applicant will have at least 2 years’ experience of working within a relevant environment involving leadership and management responsibilities for education schools and classroom facilities. 

This post will suit a professional individual who is prepared to work flexibly in a vibrant, caring and supportive educational environment.  The successful candidate will be able to manage and lead the education and operational performance of the school, ensuring compliance with company standards, quality indicators and inspection report recommendations.  They will ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are fully met and monitored and that learning strategies in place are relevant and best meet the needs of our learners.

Our school has an innovative programme where therapy is fully embedded into the curriculum. There are opportunities to expand the alternative education within the school to enhance the learning of all young people who attend.

Sheridan School is a specialist school for boys and girls aged 10 to 16 who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties with learning difficulties including autistic spectrum disorders. Many of our young people have experienced considerable disruption to their education as a result of their difficulties and may lack confidence in their own abilities. We aim to nurture and develop academic skills and self-belief through an integrated holistic approach centred on individual education, care and therapy to help our young people to thrive effectively in an ever demanding and complex society.
