Job overview

An excellent opportunity to join an outstanding Academy

Mary Rose Academy is looking for an inspirational Head of School to work with the Executive Headteacher to lead the school into the next stage of its development; to grow and develop the team around them, ensuring it is a happy and motivating place in which to learn. Our Head of School needs to have the leadership qualities to develop their role, gaining the confidence and trust of the pupils, staff and parents, maximising the opportunities which are presented by being part of a wider school community.

Solent Academies Trust has expanded to three schools and you will work with the Executive Headteacher and the Heads of School, forming a Strategic Leadership Team and creating a learning community across the three schools. Our inclusive Trust currently includes Mary Rose Academy and Cliffdale Primary Academy and Redwood Park Academy from 1st February 2017. Mary Rose is an outstanding school, a National Teaching School and a National Support School and the Trust benefits from working with a number of partners both locally and nationally. Cliffdale Primary Academy was also judged to be outstanding by Ofsted in November 2016. We have a successful track record of developing excellent leaders to realise rapid and sustained school improvement and outcomes for children.

We will offer a comprehensive induction package and exceptional ongoing support and continuing professional development as well as opportunities for career progression.

This post brings a wonderful opportunity to become a key player in our school. We are looking for someone who is up for a challenge, has high expectations and lots of energy. Someone who is passionate and committed to working with children with special educational needs, making sure they achieve the very best and still have fun along the way.

Visits are very welcome, please contact Collette Boughton at collette.boughton@maryroseacademy.info or call 023 9285 2330

For further details of the post please see the attached recruitment pack. Please find attached an application form. In your letter of application please show how you meet the criteria outlined in the person specification and tell us why you feel you are the right person to help lead our school in the next stage of its development.
