The MET was founded in August 2011 and, despite its very young age, it has become one of Panama’s leading international private schools. The school was founded by a group of six families, all parents, who joined efforts to create the school they always dreamed about. A school of excellence, international, staffed with the best faculty, with small class sizes, and where each child would feel included, happy, motivated and inspired to learn. A school with an integral curriculum that combines the rigors of academics with arts, technology, sports, social awareness, and nutritional well-being. A school that not only prepares students to face the challenges of an increasingly competitive and changing future, but also forms citizens committed with the community that surrounds them and who will contribute to building a sustainable and harmonious world.  The school currently offers classes to students in grades Pre-K3 to 10th grade, will open 11th grade in August 2014 and 12th grade the following year.

Multinational, with small class sizes, the MET offers a balanced university preparatory program integrating the very best of International and Panamanian curricula that allow mastery of English and Spanish and a working knowledge of Mandarin. The MET has received candidacy status to offer all three programs of the IBO (PYP, MYP and DP), and authorization visits for all three programs are scheduled for the 2013-2014 school year. The school is a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and will be seeking dual accreditation with CIS and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

The MET places a strong emphasis on the arts, Panamanian culture, competitive athletics, cutting edge technology (including a one device per student program throughout the school), and the promotion of values and community service, aiming to form well-rounded, responsible members of society with the necessary skills and talents required for them to succeed in a global environment.
