In September 2021, Wakefield Grammar School Foundation will be opening a new school for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children aged between 3 and 7 called Wakefield Grammar Pre-Preparatory School. This school will bring together the existing inspirational EYFS and KS1 curriculums of Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and Wakefield Girls’ High School along with our passionate and experienced teaching and support staff. 

The Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational, dynamic, and forward-thinking Head of School who has the drive, creativity and commitment to deliver excellence in all areas of the school. The successful candidate will be a suitably experienced and inspirational EYFS and KS1 practitioner who can join us ideally no later than Easter 2021. This is an exciting and unique professional opportunity for someone to help shape the future development of a new school community for boys and girls, as well as providing strategic vision and leadership. The new school will be co-educational with pupils feeding into the Junior Sections of both QEGS and WGHS at Key Stage 2 (aged 7). 

Once opened Wakefield Grammar Pre-Preparatory School will be a vibrant school, set in the middle of a Foundation community that promotes a love of learning within a safe, caring, respectful environment. 

As part of our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.
