HEAD OF SCHOOL

Permanent, Full Time Post from 1 September 2017

Leadership Spine Point L25 - L28 (£70,349 - £75,708 per annum)

The Governing Board of Millthorpe School and Trustees of South Bank Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an inspirational Head of School to lead our excellent school.

Based in the historic and beautiful City of York, this post will appeal to a strong and effective communicator, with excellent people skills, who has the ability and determination to inspire staff to outstanding performance and the provision of a top-class education.

In April 2016, Millthorpe became an Academy as a founder member of the South Bank Academy Trust with two partner primary schools.  Two more primary schools will join our Trust later this year.   Our exam results are strong, our students’ personal development rich and our current Ofsted rating “Good’.  However, we strive for improvement and our aim is for Millthorpe to be recognised as ‘Outstanding’, whilst retaining its distinctive ethos of inclusivity, diversity and excellence for all our students.

We need an equally outstanding Head of School to enable us to reach our ultimate potential.

Application forms and further details can be downloaded from our website:

http://www.millthorpeschool.co.uk/millthorpe/about-us/vacancies/

Millthorpe is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We will require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The closing date for applications is Monday 8 May 2017 at midnight.

We hope to carry out interviews during week commence Monday 15 May 2017.
