If you have a passion for Science, for ensuring that our future generation of pupils are inspired and engaged by the world, then this is an exciting prospect for the right candidate.
We are an Independent school where all of our pupils are dyslexic, although it is essential to point out that we are a mainstream school, offering the national curriculum simply tweaked to meet the needs of our pupils.
At GCSE we made the decision to offer Biology as a single Science and Physics can be chosen as an option for those pupils who wish to pursue a second Science at GCSE. In year 9 all pupils complete an entry level Science qualification.
You will be joining a department that has 2 very well qualified and experienced Science teachers who are keen to help and support if you are new to a Head of Department role or indeed if you are more experienced then they are also keen to learn new things that you may bring to the department.
Our pupils are wonderful. They are keen, engaged and enjoy school. We have very few behavioural issues, so working at Moon Hall, you will have the real opportunity to teach and engage with out pupils. Class sizes are normally no more than 12 in each class.
If you wish to work in a school where you really feel you can make a difference, if you want to feel valued by parents and colleagues then Moon Hall is the school for you. We are a family school, we look out for one another and kindness is something you will experience and witness between staff and pupils alike.
We are looking for a Biology Specialist. If you can teach Physics too that would be advantageous but not a necessity. Part time of 0.8 FTE may be considered also.
