Sacred Heart Catholic College is a mixed, voluntary-aided, Roman Catholic, 11-18 secondary school with sixth form, situated in Crosby in Liverpool. There are 1,360 students on the school roll, of whom 290 are students in the sixth form. The secondary catholic school is under the trusteeship of the Archdiocese of Liverpool, and the Governing Body is the Admissions Authority and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admissions.

Sacred Heart Catholic College’s motto is: ‘Caring and Achieving Excellence within a Christian Community’. It aims to provide a Christian education which is rooted in the Catholic tradition, and to enable all children to reach the highest levels of achievement and prepare them for a life-long learning experience. The school also wants to develop each individual: spiritually, morally, emotionally, socially, intellectually and physically, and aims to treat each person in a way which recognises and respects the equal and inestimable value of each unique human being.

Sacred Heart Catholic College aims to reflect community values through the collective responsibility of all adults for all children and to provide a safe, caring environment in which children can experience security and be educationally challenged. The school aims to provide a strong partnership with parents, parishes and the wider community and to enable pupils to take an active part in their community.

“The headteacher, senior leaders and governors promote high expectations for all students. Leaders are strongly improving teaching and, as a result, most students now achieve well. There is a whole-hearted commitment to improvement. Teaching is good overall with improved attention to students fully understanding more complex topics. The sixth form is well led and students attend regularly and achieve well over time.”
