Ellowes Hall Sports College are recruiting for a Head of Science to start January 2022.

We are a Multi Academy Trust comprising of six secondary schools and one primary school with over 700 employees and over 5,000 students, based in Dudley, West Midlands.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to join Ellowes Hall Sports College and continue to shape our high-performing department into the future. 

Ellowes Hall Sports College is looking to appoint a well-qualified, excellent classroom practitioner to lead, manage and develop the provision of science within the school and to ensure appropriate monitoring, analysis and evaluation. 

The successful applicant will be expected to lead the department’s strategic and operational development. We welcome applications from teachers with experience of leading improvement in students’ attainment and progress. 

The successful candidate should be a teacher of imagination and commitment, able to teach Science to GCSE Level and keen to work with pupils of all abilities in a well-resourced department. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who is keen to take advantage of our teacher development programmes and further enhance pupil progress

You will need to;

• Be a qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Be qualified to honours degree in a science subject

• Have successful experience of Science at Key Stage / middle leadership and impact

• Have knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum requirements across Key Stage 3 and 4

• Have enthusiasm and a positive outlook

• A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning
