Head of Science
Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale + TLR 1a
(salary negotiable for exceptional candidate)
We are looking for a new or existing Science specialist that is a forward thinking, dynamic and resilient leader who, working with collaboration with the new Senior Leadership Team, will provide operational and strategic leadership to take the department to the next level. The colleague appointed will be a natural leader, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at NHS. It is crucial that the successful candidate has a sound understanding of the latest educational landscape and how to achieve success within these parameters.
This is an exciting stage for the department as we have made many changes across the school over the past twelve months. The department consists of 5 members of staff (4 Science and 1 Food & Nutrition).
Support and Opportunities
We invest and support our staff at NHS and over the last 12 months have welcomed colleagues onto the Senior Leadership team as part of their development. We support outward facing initiatives through promotion of school visits and CPD training. We also have opportunities for colleagues to gain wider experience in whole school initiates and this has supported the promotion of a number of internal appointments over the past 12 months.
Since joining Newsome High last April, I have experienced at first hand the special family feel our school offers and the energy from both students and staff has been a pleasure to see. I strongly welcome visits to see this at first hand and will make myself available to facilitate these for informal discussions about how this move will be a momentous positive decision for both your future career and to join us on our journey to becoming a centre of excellence.
