Founded in 1971 and opened as a family-oriented British School, it was one of the first of its kind in Madrid. Today, it is based on six sites, in central Madrid and has over 1100 pupils.
Hastings School follows the National Curriculum for England. At Primary we follow a creative, topic curriculum based on stories from all over the world. At Secondary level pupils prepare for IGCSE, AS and A Level examinations. Most pupils go to either British or Spanish universities.
Hastings School is looking to appoint a full time Secondary Head of Science from September 2021. Candidates will hold a relevant degree and a UK approved PGCE or international equivalent. The candidate would be leading a highly successful department of eight specialist science teachers and two full-time technicians, with well-equipped laboratories. There are two assistant heads of department. The department will grow further as we work towards authorisation and implementation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In order to balance specialisms within the department, the successful candidate will need to be able to teach IGCSE, A level/IBDP Chemistry. Please see Job Description for details.
