Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) is a thriving international, day and boarding school set in beautiful Malaysian countryside, an hour’s drive south of Kuala Lumpur. The School was established in 1991 and now caters for more than 1,000 students aged 3 to 19. The Primary School follows the English national curriculum in mathematics and literacy, alongside the International Primary Curriculum; while the Secondary School prepares students for IGCSEs and A Levels. Most students go on to study at UK universities.

We are looking for an inspirational and highly-motivated teacher and leader for our Science Department. The ability to teach Physics to A Level and to prepare students for assessment tests for competitive universities would be an advantage.

The Head of Science will have overall responsibility for the teaching of all Science from Key Stages 3 to 5.  He/she will collaborate with the Heads of Physics, Chemistry and Biology to ensure all Science staff work together to review and develop the curriculum, assessments and approaches to feedback to maximise student learning.  The successful candidate will be a life-long learner who aspires to the highest standards in teaching and learning and will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality, challenging and stimulating lessons.  He/she will contribute to the holistic education offered in our boarding environment as his/her educational philosophy and values will be in line with the mission, vision and values of KTJ.

Candidates must have at least two years’ teaching experience in contexts which prioritise student-centred learning.

Teaching Information

Teachers at Kolej Tuanku Jaafar are expected to hold at least 2 years’ relevant experience in their teaching subject and the British National Curriculum, with strong IT skills. Teachers are also expected to engage fully in the life of the school.
