Founded in September 2016, Nord Anglia Chinese International School Shanghai (NACIS) offers students a creative, challenging and rewarding learning experience.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced and inspiring leader to join our team from August 2017. Working in partnership with other members of the Secondary Academic Leadership Team, this learning leader will be passionate about developing effective science learning opportunities across the secondary school, leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This role will be demanding in the expectation of leading an internationalised delivery of the Shanghai National Curriculum in Grades 6 to 9 and extending students’ learning in preparing them for the rigors of future international examination pathways offered at the school. A teaching responsibility for an IB class is part of this role expectation and having IB teaching experience will be an advantage as will a working knowledge of varied examination pathways. Experience of teaching students within a multilingual environment will be an advantage but not a prerequisite, a desire to teach in a multilingual environment is a must.
Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international, multilingual environment, you will bring a degree, a recognised teaching qualification and experience in leading an academic department. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement.
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students.
You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions of living and working in China.

The closing date for application is Friday 9 December. First stage interviews will be conducted by Skype or telephone and final interviews will take place at our Strategic Alliance Nord Anglia Education Recruitment Event in central London in the week commencing Monday 16 January (alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person).
