We are seeking to appoint a leader who will play a leading role in driving progress through excellence in teaching and learning. They will be able to show the motivation, leadership and commitment required to achieve ambitious targets for our pupils and for the school as a whole. This is an opportunity for an experienced subject leader or an excellent teacher with curriculum leadership experience who would like to take the next step in their career within a supportive team.

About Compass School  

Compass School Southwark is a small and friendly four-form entry, mixed, 11-16 free school that opened in September 2013. We are ideally located just a short walk from Bermondsey Tube Station. Compass School will move into a new state-of-the-art building on the neighbouring site in 2023 so this is a fantastic time to be joining our community.

About the role 

The Head of Science will be directly responsible for teaching and learning within the subject and will be line-managed by an Assistant Principal. They will have a specific responsibility for achievement, curriculum development, pedagogy and the effectiveness of teaching and learning across the subject.
