A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Head of Science to lead our dynamic department. The department consistently achieves above national results, achieving record results in 2021/22 with 74% achieving at least 2 grade 4 or above, in science and consistently positive progress in our expanding triple science groups.

The Science Department at Outwood Grange Academy is a large and thriving department. Our team of 18 science teachers deliver high quality lessons in specialist labs all contained within a purpose-built building . This is supported by our brilliant team of 4 technicians. At GCSE we follow the AQA specification delivering both the separate science and the Trilogy Combined Science curriculum. We also have a large and expanding post 16 where we deliver all 3 A level Sciences alongside Btec Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Science.

As a member of the Outwood Family you will share our vision of “Students First” and be able to work collaboratively with our  network of outstanding heads of science and senior leaders . You will be supported on your journey by our Directors of Science.

OGAT are proud to be a part of the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) hosting its North and East campus as Outwood Academy Redcar and Outwood Academy Adwick. The NIoT identifies best practice in education, in order to develop cutting-edge, evidence-based teacher training and professional development programmes. OGAT colleagues will benefit from the work of the institute, which draws on the expertise of some of the most outstanding school leaders in education today.
