An opportunity has arisen for a professional, creative and enthusiastic Head of Science to join and proactively develop our Science Department. The successful candidate will need to be able to teach  to across key stages. The right candidate will be a reflective, hardworking professional who combines excellent organisational and teaching skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students. The capacity to generate energy and enthusiasm for learning is a must. Establishing strong relationships with students and staff, whilst modelling professional standards across all areas of work is essential.

Grace Academy Darlaston, is a vibrant and improving secondary Academy on the outskirts of Walsall rated by Ofsted as 'Good' in May 2017.  We have approximately 822 students on roll across the Academy and are expanding rapidly.

Values and vision

Grace Academy has a Christian ethos based upon its five shared values of grace, respect, integrity, potential and excellence. As part of its vision to develop citizens who make a difference, the school engages students and staff in the work of a dedicated Ethos Team. The Ethos Team includes a dedicated member of the leadership team, youth workers and an RSE programme coordinator. They work together with key staff to help students develop a sense of identity, make wise and well-informed choices, live with aspiration, and understand and apply the school’s values.

Through the secondary school’s Business and Enterprise Specialism, it draws on the expertise of more than 62 business professionals from 16 local companies, who offer students workshops and advice to help improve their employability.
