Required for a September 2018 start

We are looking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Science to join our Executive Leadership Group as  Head of the Science Faculty including Computer Science. We are a flourishing and expanding school who achieved ‘good’ in our latest Ofsted visit. We are determined to become ‘outstanding’ and are committed to the personal and professional development of all of our staff. You will lead a forward thinking and already successful Science department to become ‘outstanding’ through the ability to deliver a strategic vision and inspirational leadership. You will lead on research projects both within the Science Faculty and across school to impact on our school improvement journey.

We are looking to appoint a colleague who has a proven track record of raising standards in Science and who can demonstrate inspirational teaching and a passion for delivering lessons which are motivational, challenging and engaging. You will need to demonstrate the energy, enthusiasm and commitment to work as part of a team which is determined to achieve ‘outstanding’. In return you will work in an exceptional and supportive environment that will further develop your professional skills and ambitions.

This role is ideal for an ambitious professional who has held responsibility for an area of leadership in Science such as responsibility for Key Stage 3 or 4 or Second in Department and feels ready to lead their own department. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, ambitious colleague to join a young and thriving department.

We would welcome applications from colleagues at a relatively early stage of their career who have exceptional subject knowledge, strong leadership potential and a clear understanding of how to enable all students to make outstanding progress in their learning.

An application form can be found on the school website www.golbornehigh.wigan.sch.uk and further details of the post are available upon request from Hazel Ashton. Your application should be submitted to Hazel Ashton by the closing date.
