Job overview

We are looking for an inspirational and innovative leader of science to take our science department to the next level. The science department has a proven track record of success with a dedicated and experienced team. He or she will build on existing good practice to raise standards, strengthen partnerships and ensure positive outcomes for all our students. The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate whole school leadership as reflected in the remuneration package, specific details will be negotiated with the successful candidate. A specialist in Biology would be desirable but not essential.

This is a superb opportunity for an ambitious teacher who wishes to develop their skills in preparation for a senior leadership role. Fearnhill School is a mixed, comprehensive secondary school with sixth form in Hertfordshire serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Letchworth Garden City has approximately 520 students on roll.

Fearnhill School was built for Hertfordshire County Council and has facilities including a music suite, drama studio, nine fully-size teaching laboratories  and good IT provision. A sports centre is also on site, complete with a gymnasium and tennis courts.
