Head of Scrutiny – Secondary Schools
The Head of Scrutiny Secondary Schools will provide leadership in delivering Education Scotland’s scrutiny programmes ensuring they provide assurance on quality and improvement in education and makes a significant contribution to Education Scotland’s suite of improvement approaches. They will provide direct support to the Strategic Director Scrutiny in ensuring the effective and efficient use of resources in delivering the organisation’s scrutiny programme with a particular focus on secondary school inspections. They will ensure the best use is made of evidence gathered through inspection to promote improvement in Scottish education.

Education Scotland was created on 1st July 2011, bringing together the work of Learning and Teaching Scotland, Her
Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education for Scotland, the National CPD team and the Scottish Government’s Positive Behaviour Team. It was established as the Scottish Government’s integrated national development and improvement agency for education, providing support and challenge right through from the early years to adult learning.
