Newton British School Muraikh is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to take on the role of Head of Secondary School. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the Secondary School’s academic and operational functions, ensuring the successful planning, delivery, and assessment of the British Curriculum while upholding high standards of teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, leadership experience, and a commitment to the development and success of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
· Curriculum Leadership:
o Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of the British Curriculum, ensuring a broad and balanced approach that meets the needs of all students, across the ability spectrum.
o Ensure department curriculum documentation reflects a clear progression of skills and knowledge.
· Team Leadership and Management:
o Directly line-manage and chair meetings with the Secondary Management Team, including Heads of Departments and Coordinators.
o Monitor and assess the performance of staff through work scrutinies, department reviews, observations, and appraisals.
o Foster a collaborative, supportive environment for staff professional growth.
· Quality Assurance:
o Monitor and improve teaching standards through regular reviews, student and teacher feedback, and rigorous performance management processes.
o Lead the development of internal and external professional development opportunities in liaison with the CPD Coordinator.
· Student and Staff Support:
o Address serious behavioural issues, ensuring appropriate discipline and support systems are in place for students.
o Lead the recruitment and induction process for new Secondary staff members.
o Oversee student admissions into the Secondary School, ensuring all processes are smooth and transparent.
· Operational and Administrative Management:
o Manage the production and upkeep of the Secondary School timetable.
o Create and update the school calendar and duty rota for Secondary staff.
o Liaise with parents and monitor communication channels between staff and parents.
· Communication and Public Relations:
o Oversee the Secondary School’s content on the website and in social media publications, ensuring a clear and positive representation of the school.
