ROLE SUMMARY:


Kings College School La Moraleja is looking for a passionate Head of Secondaray for their school. The Head of Secondary School is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to subject heads, overseeing systems and processes, and ensuring the school’s aims and objectives are met.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Leadership & Management:

  • Lead subject heads and teaching staff.
  • Support middle leaders and delegate effectively to Assistant Heads.


Operational Oversight:

  • Maintain self-evaluation processes.
  • Implement policies, quality assurance frameworks, and appraisal processes.
  • Manage staff allocation and student progress tracking.


Student & Staff Support:

  • Ensure all year groups meet attainment and progress targets.
  • Support teaching, cover duties, and behavior management.


Safeguarding:

  • Promote student welfare and support the Designated Safeguarding Lead.


General Support:

  • Assist with school calendar coordination and overall smooth operation.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


The ideal candidate for this role should possess experience, skills, and knowledge in the following areas:

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership and management experience in a secondary school.
  • 5 years of teaching experience in British National Curriculum schools (UK or internationally).
  • Expertise in school self-evaluation, development planning, and staff development.
  • Experience in line management and strategic planning.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of high-quality teaching and the ability to support others.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to inspire and build relationships.
  • Data analysis skills to assess attainment and curriculum effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in IT tools (Microsoft, Google Office, iSAMS, and Global Study Platform).
  • Ability to manage pressure, delegate tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Spanish communication skills (written and spoken) for non-English-speaking stakeholders.
