We are looking for a dedicated Head of Engineering to join our department supporting the Associate Principal and Centre Deputy Principal in the running of the college and its continued growth through the recruitment and retention of learners and the ongoing development of an appropriate, high quality curriculum offer. This will be an exciting time to join our College and be the spearhead of developing our new build state of the art engineering advanced technology centre. You will be the key person that will shape the future of engineering and lead on curriculum design along with the Associate Principal in this new venture.


The role will be responsible for the coordination of the tutorial program in cooperation with a group of tutors along with tracking the achievement and success of apprenticeships and full-time learners on Btec programmes. You’ll also be responsible for successful achievement of KPI’s including success rates, recruitment, attendance, student progression, quality of teaching, study programme implementation including English and Maths.


Our existing post holder will be retiring from this position and you will be taking over a strong area in both performance, student success and achievements. The ideal candidate will be someone with a vison and innovation and has a thirst to help learners succeed and develop a career in engineering disciplines.  


The post holder will have significant experience of the management and development of engineering curriculum areas along with experience in one or more of the following areas such as, vocational learning including Engineering and Apprenticeships standards in this subject. Finally, they should be an experienced teacher and have a professional qualification.
