The recent growth of the Dulwich family of schools into Myanmar represents a unique opportunity for teachers to be involved in the development of newly built and resourced schools in the heart of one of Asia’s most fascinating cities. In partnership with Dulwich College and its nine sister schools in Asia, Dulwich College Yangon (DCY) upholds the traditions and outstanding educational standards which have become the hallmark of the Dulwich name in the U.K. and Asia. In 2017, Dulwich College International students achieved an IB average of 37.2 and A* / A average of 69% in the IGCSEs.
The College operates across two campuses. The Head of Senior School will initially be responsible for the Year 6-9 Middle School at the Pun Hlaing campus and the same age phase at Star City. The Star City campus will then add additional year groups on an annual basis until it reaches Year 13. Pun Hlaing students will transfer to the Star City campus at the end of Year 9 for their examination years.
The College is searching for an inspirational leader who is committed to further raising the high standards of excellence in the Middle/Senior Schools. They should have experience of senior leadership positions either in the U.K. or international schools overseas. The candidate must possess an excellent understanding of the English National Curriculum, as well as the (I)GCSE, ‘A’ Level and/or IB Diploma examination programmes. They should possess high order organisational skills, be committed to actively developing learning alongside the students and have a proven track record of working with and inspiring staff.
The successful candidate will work alongside the campus Heads and current KS3 co-ordinators. They will also assume whole College responsibilities as part of the College Leadership Team.
All applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a first degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education (i.e. PGCE). They must also have successful experience of leadership in an outstanding Senior School up to Year 13 (preferably with experience of the IB Diploma Programme).
