Join our expert team as we change the landscape of educational services!
The Education People is the new one-stop shop for professional education services supporting the full age range from early years to young adults. We passionately believe that with the right support, and by working together, we can improve the life chances of all children and young people. Our advisers and managers are experts in their field, bringing experience as headteachers, teachers, early years managers, youth workers and more. We therefore understand the challenges, know how the system works and can help our customers take advantage of new opportunities when they arise.

The opportunity

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic, proactive and forward-thinking individual to lead our Primary School Improvement team. As Head of Service you will provide strategic leadership to support maintained schools, continue to develop our traded services, and increase income, in line with corporate and statutory requirements. You will be leading a team of highly motivated and professional school improvement advisers, leading ongoing improvement and working in collaboration with Kent headteachers. You will also work closely alongside other Heads of Service particularly those in Early Years, Secondary School Improvement, Skills and Employability and Education Safeguarding. You will be responsible for managing, monitoring and growing the Primary School Improvement team by providing strategic direction, empowering your direct reports, reviewing performance and securing the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate… …. will have an area of professional expertise which includes an excellent track record of school leadership and delivery of significant improvements, with a good understanding of the way in which local authorities now operate in a more diverse education system. In Kent we have good working relationships with academies, academy trusts and chains, and with the DfE and Ofsted. We constantly seek to ensure that our arrangements for securing excellent education are based on a sustainable model for the future.

We look forward to receiving your application.

The postholder will be based at Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1XQ.
