We are seeking an inspirational and caring Head of Sixth Form that will be able to lead all aspects of the IB Diploma programme (IBDP) as well as the wellbeing and enrichment of our students.  Essentially, the Head of Sixth Form is responsible for the administration and coordination of the IBDP and ensuring the academic progress of our students.  In monitoring, tracking and supporting learning and progress, the post-holder would work closely with the Deputy Head  (Academics).  The post-holder would line-manage the University Advisor in providing support and guidance to our students.  Furthermore, the post-holder would line-manage and support the coordinators of extended essay, creativity/action/service (CAS) and Theory of Knowledge (ToK).

The Head of Sixth Form is responsible for the overall welfare of all students in the Sixth Form, including taking a leading and active role in embedding a kind and aspirational culture, which promotes the wellbeing, and supports the personal and social development of all students.  The post-holder will actively promote and encourage our school vision and ethos linked to the IB philosophy and learner profile.

The Head of Sixth Form would be a member of the Secondary Management Team and would therefore contribute to wider school philosophy, policy and practice as well as leading and managing the Sixth Form and IB Diploma programme.

The Head of Sixth Form would be joining a school that has an excellent reputation in terms of academics, wellbeing and enrichment.  The school has a fantastic record of IBDP success with students often gaining 40 or more points and an average pass rate that is higher than global averages.  Many of our students move onto well reputed universities in the UK, US, Canada, Europe as well as Asia and Thailand.  Our students are a joy to work with and our staff are experienced and confident practitioners.  The school seeks to remain true to its vision in ‘bringing the best out of everyone’ and would support the successful candidate through in-house and external professional development and in implementing new initiatives and ideas that support learning.
