(ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER)


The Mount School York is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed teacher as Head of Sixth Form with effect from September 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter. 


The Sixth Form at The Mount School, called College, is a centre for academic excellence with students going on each year to study at a range of top universities both in the UK and abroad. The successful candidate will lead and work closely with a highly experienced team of College Personal Tutors and provide the highest level of personal support to all students in College. Key to the role is having the ability and experience to be able to lead and manage a bespoke UCAS application process, and to fully prepare students for university and life beyond school. 


The Head of Sixth Form will be working at Assistant Headteacher level and will play an integral part in the everyday leadership and management of the School. For any external candidate applying for this role, the successful candidate must be able to teach up to A Level in either History or Art/Graphic Design or Economics/Business, subjects we are currently looking to recruit staff into.


Applications are invited from ambitious, talented individuals who are passionate about teaching and the pastoral care of young people. There is a requirement for the successful candidate to also give to the extra-curricular programme of the School and to organise pastoral day and residential trips for College students.

The Mount is a school for girls aged 3 to 18. In our most recent ISI Inspection, the School was rated ‘excellent’ in both areas of educational quality.
