In 2018 The Highcrest Academy achieved the highest value-added score for 16-18 in the whole of Buckinghamshire, with our students achieving on average +0.47 higher than their expected targets. In October 2018 we moved into the brand new purpose-built Sixth Form centre to cater for our growing cohort, with currently over 160 on roll.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified Head of Sixth Form who will share responsibility for the learning and personal development of all pupils and line manage the Tutor Team. The role plays a key part in the Inclusion Team ensuring that all pupils maximise their potential.
Knowledge of the UCAS system/higher level apprenticeships and EPQ would be desirable but is not essential as training and support will be provided for the successful candidate. The ability to teach a Humanities subject or Music could be an advantage.

A new building programme, recently completed, comprises the brand new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym and a new restaurant for both students and staff.
Highcrest offers an innovative and extensive CPD package that was recognised as an excellent example of good practice in our most recent Ofsted Inspection. No matter what your experience, we will help you develop into the teacher you aspire to be.
“I’d definitely say our INSET and CPD programme/sessions are far better than anything I’ve seen or heard of from other schools.” ... Head of Art
We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together.
“The growing house system encourages competition between not only students but also staff, which creates a real community feeling, making it an enjoyable place to work.” ... Head of Humanities
