King’s College London Mathematics School (KCLMS) is for highly motivated students aged 16-19 with a particular aptitude and enthusiasm for mathematics. The Head Teacher is seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher to play a central role in realising the vision and ambitions of the school. They will be a member of the Lead Teacher Team (middle leadership) and thus share responsibility for the delivery of the Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare strategy of King’s College London Mathematics School.

The Head of Sixth Form will oversee the work of their tutor team, will ensure that behaviour, punctuality and attendance is outstanding, and be responsible for the school’s independent futures programme including university applications. They will also teach classes, either as a teacher of one of the school’s A-level subjects (Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science and Economics) or as a teacher of Academic Literacy: as such, applications from teachers of humanities subjects with a high degree of literacy are also encouraged.

This post represents an interesting opportunity for a teacher to take on their first middle leadership role, or for a current middle leader for instance a head of year or head of house, ready to take on more significant responsibility in the PDBW Team.

The successful candidate will have strong academic credentials and will already have a proven record of outstanding teaching. A vital qualification will be that they share the vision of the school to help talented and motivated young people find challenge and excitement in a curriculum that fosters intellectual growth and curiosity.

King’s College London Mathematics School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure through the DBS.
