Job overview

'Inspiring' 'Exciting' 'Challenging' 'Innovative' 'Supportive'

This a fabulous opportunity for a dedicated and inspiring leader to join the senior team at a very exciting time for Billing Brook Special Academy.

We are seeking a colleague who has a true passion for teaching and preparing students for adulthood who has the charisma and character to lead the staff and develop close links with local employers, colleges, training providers and agencies in the very best learning strategies for children with special educational needs. Billing Brook Academy has a rich tradition of strong working partnerships with schools, employers and colleges and continuing and extending this collaboration is critical to the role.  Any candidate applying must be self-driven, team orientated, reflective and have the staffs’ wellbeing in mind.

Billing Brook School is an outstanding, popular and ever growing special school in the Lumbertubs area of Northampton. Currently we have 228 pupils on roll aged between 4 and 18 who have a wide range of complex needs. Our sixth from is currently housed in an offsite sixth form centre which has a cafe and pre-love retail outlet on site. Our complex autistic sixth form students are currently on the main site but will move into their off-site centre in January 2020.

The successful candidate will eventually be responsible for both centres and will have a teaching commitment in both. We currently deliver a range of vocational and personal development courses and wish to see these expand to meet the needs of all students.

We can offer you:

• Students who enjoy school and thrive on their broad based curriculum and wide range of activities;

• The opportunity to work in an outstanding school and to contribute to the next phase of its development;

• An outstanding school with good established practices, a sound financial position and good buildings and site;

• A stable and committed staff team determined to give our students the best possible opportunities;

• A supportive and committed board of trustees.

• On-going professional career development

If you are the person to take up the challenge and help lead our exceptional school into the next phase of its development, we would like to hear from you.

We encourage you to visit the school. Our Headteacher, Caroline Grant, will be showing potential candidates around on Wednesday 1st May at 1.30pm or Tuesday 7th May 2019 at 09.30am. To arrange an appointment please contact Helen Lynett, PA to the Headteacher on 01604 773910 or senco@billing.northants-ecl.gov.uk

Closing Date: Friday 10th May 2019 at 10.00am

Interviews:     Either Friday 17th or Monday 20th May 2019.
