Southfield School is an excellent girls’ school with a vibrant mixed Sixth Form. With a progress 8 score of 0.69, the school sits in the top 5% of schools in the country. The school has a key focus on staff wellbeing and has numerous initiatives in place to support this. They include time for planning off-site, fitness clubs, yoga sessions and many more. These initiatives are driven by a wellbeing group made up of staff members of varied experience.
The Social Sciences Department year on year achieves outstanding results, well above the national average. The department has grown rapidly over the last 3 years and currently includes A Levels in Psychology and Sociology and Level 3 and Level 2 BTECs in Health and Social Care. Psychology is a very popular subject with a large take up in the Sixth form. This successful department is a friendly, hard-working team, committed to stimulating students’ interest and enjoyment in their studies in addition to producing outstanding examination results
In the last Ofsted report inspectors reported that they were impressed by our students. They “demonstrate very positive attitudes towards their learning” and are “proud of their school and take pride in their work”. “Poor behaviour across the school is rare”. We would recommend that you come and visit us during a working day and we are confident that you would be impressed.
