This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to take leadership of the School’s lead language, Spanish. This is a new post from September 2018 and has been created in order to provide a dedicated Head of Department for Spanish, to manage the increased size, scope and profile of Spanish as the School’s lead language.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, draw on extensive subject knowledge and be an enthusiastic advocate of the Spanish language and the Spanish-speaking world. The successful candidate will be able to offer a second language (within our modern languages curriculum) to IGCSE level, ideally French. The ability to inspire students and staff is essential. The post-holder will liaise and work closely with the Head of Modern Languages.
The post involves teaching across the age and ability range from Year 7 to Year 13. In addition to teaching, the post-holder will also have pastoral responsibilities within their allocated year group.
All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the pastoral and enrichment programmes of the School. All staff share the responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the students, in accordance with the School’s safeguarding policies.
