Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher to lead this active and successful department within the school.

Bryanston is a thriving and popular school, offering professional development in a culture which recognises and champions aspiration, having been awarded ‘excellent’ in all areas in a recent ISI inspection.

In addition to offering GCSE and A Level Spanish, Bryanston also offers to pupils the International Baccalaureate, and a knowledge of each qualification, and experience of teaching each to the highest level, would be desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Spanish across the age and ability range at secondary level. An ability to offer a second language to at least GCSE level would be significant, but not essential. An on-going commitment to developing the subject curriculum and to professional development is essential.

A willingness to be involved in helping with the running of a boarding school, contributing to extra-curricular activities, will be of significance.

The post is currently non-residential, although if the preferred candidate is willing to undertake boarding house duties, and there is a vacancy, this may be considered.

For further information and to apply online, please visit www.bryanston.co.uk/employment

Closing date: Sunday, 5th May 2019

Interview date: Thursday, 9th May 2019

Bryanston is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check.

About Bryanston School

Bryanston is an independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 3 to 18, set in a beautiful 400-acre site near Blandford Forum in Dorset. It includes Bryanston Prep School, a co-educational day and boarding prep school in the neighbouring village of Durweston.

Founded in 1928, the school aims above all to develop the all-round talents of individual pupils. A broad, flexible academic and extra-curricular programme is offered and each pupil benefits from considerable one-to-one help and guidance from a personal tutor, subject teachers and housemaster/housemistress. Bryanston aims to combine the best of the new and the old, as befits the school motto et nova et vetera.
