Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a highly effective, inspiring and outstanding SENDCo to undertake the leadership and management of the SEND department. This permanent post will commence from September 2018.

The successful applicant will have strong experience of working within the SEND department and a proven track record for ensuring pupils with special needs are provided with the highest levels of support, both internally and via external multi-agencies, to overcome physical, social and emotional barriers to learning and maximise academic progress. The ideal candidate will have high standards and expectations and a fully inclusive approach to teaching and learning.

Applications are invited from suitably experienced candidates who are committed to academic excellence and feel they have the commitment and skills required to lead a department; as well as making a real difference to the achievements of our most vulnerable pupils whilst delivering first class learning.

Holte School is an oversubscribed, diverse, multi-racial, 11-18 community school. Our last two Ofsted inspections judged us “Outstanding” in all categories. The school co-sponsors Blue Coat Church of England Academy in Walsall and also works in partnership with Lozells Primary School. We have held the Inclusion Quality Mark award since 2014.

The school is on a shared site with a primary and special school and a new sixth-form centre is being developed. The school's ethos emphasises high quality teaching to achieve excellence and enable its students to maximise their potential.

Informal visits, by appointment, are most welcome. Please contact 0121 566 4380.

Closing date: Tuesday 8 May 2018 @ 10am
