Highly Specialist Therapist Speech and Language Therapist Part time. Permanent. Term time only.

Following an internal restructure, an exciting new opportunity has arisen to expand and build our Speech and Language Therapy Department. We need a skilled, enthusiastic and motivated person to lead our Speech and Language Therapy department at Victoria School. Livability’s Victoria School is a school for students aged 3-19 with primarily physical and medical needs and associated learning difficulties in Poole, Dorset. We are a fully inclusive and integrated school that inspires and creates a wonderfully calm and nurturing environment.

The post holder will be responsible for managing the Speech and Language Therapy department as well as planning and delivering assessments and interventions to children with a variety of developmental disorders. You will provide training for the Speech and Language Therapy team as well as staff throughout the school. You will work closely with families and with other professionals to provide an excellent quality of care and to act as a source of information, support and advice.

Ideally you will have experience of working with children either in a special school or within paediatric speech and language therapy setting. Preferably you will have post-graduate qualifications in Dysphagia.

Essential Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Experience working with children & young adults
  • Supervision of Junior SaLT staff.

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification in Dysphagia
