Head of Sport

Great Ballard is seeking an exceptional Head of Sport to join our growing school. Our vision for sport is unique locally and we are looking for a special individual to take it forwards. As a small school, we are excited about punching above our weight and the power that team sports have to nurture collaboration and leadership. But we will never be obsessed by results alone. It has always been our dual ambition that every single student leaves Great Ballard loving sport and recognising the role it plays in forging healthy lives. Our approach is inclusive and pupil centered rather than inflexible and elitist and we value individual sports, fitness and exercise alongside football, netball and cricket. Similarly, while we are hoping to find a candidate with experience playing and coaching at the highest level, it will be more important to find someone who shares our vision and wants to achieve something empowering and different.

Great Ballard is a delightful, co-educational independent day school for children aged 2 and a half to 16 years. We are truly unique in providing individualised care and support for the children and a safe space in which each pupil can be inspired and discover what they can really achieve. Pupils are known by all staff, not just their form tutor and the school takes great pride in ensuring that none ever feel invisible or overlooked.

We opened our senior school welcoming year 9 in September 2021 with years 10 & 11 following in the subsequent two years. These are exciting times for the school which is rapidly growing and we are now looking for an exceptional Head of Sport with the can-do attitude, taste for adventure and vision to support us with our plans.
