Job overview

Gordonstoun is one of the leading full boarding schools in the UK. As an all-abilities school with a diverse community of students, Gordonstoun is renowned for valuing and developing the individual strengths of each child, providing students with the opportunity to develop their life skills at the same time as they reach their full academic potential.

Gordonstoun is set in a safe and beautiful 200-acre woodland campus, walking distance from the expansive beaches of the Moray Firth, and within easy reach of the stunning Scottish Highlands. Our location enables us to offer a uniquely broad curriculum of indoor and outdoor learning which helps our pupils to flourish academically and personally.

We are seeking a Head of Student Support to join Gordonstoun. Building on the excellent work done by our departments of Learning Support and EAL, we are now establishing an overarching Student Support Department to encompass both areas. Our aim is to ensure we remain at the forefront of best practice in ensuring every child achieves their full potential through a range of strategies and interventions, both on a targeted and wholeschool basis.

The new Head of Student Support will want to play a full role in boarding school life. You will be an experienced practitioner in either Learning Support or EAL with the vision and drive to develop a sector-leading integrated approach.

A post-graduate Level 7 equivalent qualification for JCQ access arrangements on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), a good first degree in a related discipline, and eligibility for GTCS registration are essential.
