We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and excellent Head of Teaching and Learning, who will fully commit to life in a busy London Prep School, who will embrace the school’s core values of Curiosity, Creativity, Courage and Kindness.

Starting in September 2023, the Head of Teaching and Learning is responsible to the Headmaster, through the Deputy Head for further raising the pupils’ achievement and maintaining the excellent quality of teaching and learning across the School consistent with the School’s strategic plan, vision, mission and values. 

The post involves line managing academic staff, including class teachers and specialist teacher, from our Pre-Kindergarten age group through to Year 6.

The post includes responsibility for the leadership of the School’s arrangements for teachers involved in the Early Careers Framework (ECTs) and for the arrangements which it has in place for any colleagues involved in Initial Teacher Training. The position holder will mentor all ECTs and ITT colleagues.

The Head of Teaching and Learning is a member of the School’s Leadership Team (SLT) and, as such, the position holds particular responsibility for the School’s vision to further build a culture of learning across the entire school community.

The postholder is responsible for the coordination, monitoring and updating of the School’s academic plan and will contribute termly at Governors meetings on progress being made in all academic areas.
