Head of Teaching School Alliance

Leadership Scale 13-17

Starting January 2019

We are delighted to announce that we are recruiting a Head of Teaching School Alliance for Finham Park School, for January 2019. This exciting opportunity has become available following the Teaching School being established in September 2018.

Finham Park School is the Lead School in the recently established Finham Park Multi Academy Trust. Primary and Secondary schools in Finham Park MAT will set out to pioneer, innovate and deliver a “World Class” education for all.

Finham Park School was judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2015 for the second time. It is a Specialist College in Mathematics & Computing, a National Support School, and Leading Edge School. It is situated in the heart of the city of Coventry and is an 11-18 Academy for pupils aged 11 to 19. It is highly over-subscribed with a Sixth Form of over 300 students. In 2016 Finham Park was certified as a “World Class School” and was one of only 16 schools nationally to be re-accredited as such in 2018 - a place where all our students develop a love of “learning for life”.

We are looking to appoint a charismatic, dynamic individual with exceptional leadership skills, who naturally inspires others and is passionate about teaching and its impact on learning. The successful candidate will be driven by a commitment to create the best possible educational opportunities for our pupils, in order to raise aspirations and transform lives.

Finham Park Multi Academy Trust is seeking someone who will:

· be a successful leader with the potential to become “World Class”; a willing and capable learner who believes in our vision for the school and who will inspire and empower others to share in achieving it

· inspire and motivate students and staff, ensuring all are valued and supported to be the best they can be

· be passionate about making a difference for every child

· be supported to develop their leadership skills and specialisms across several areas of school life

We are happy to arrange informal, confidential discussions or visits to the School. Should you be interested in either of these options, please contact Mrs Diane Case, PA to the Head Teacher on 02476 418 135 or email d.case@finhampark.co.uk

Finham Park is a popular and successful 11 -18 comprehensive school situated in the south west of Coventry. It has an excellent reputation within the local community as well as nationally and internationally. The school was re-accredited as a World Class School in July 2018.

Ofsted described the school as a place where there is a strong culture of learning and a proven track record of academic success, with students consistently making above average levels of progress in their studies in both Key Stages 4 and 5. The behaviour of the students is Outstanding.

Their eagerness for learning allows our teachers to deliver stimulating and innovative lessons that result in rapid progress. There is a clear focus on the development of teaching and learning through engagement in national research programmes with a strong structure of support at all levels. In addition, there is personalised programme of professional development and extensive opportunities for career progression.

The school is well resourced. New technologies are widely available and are helping to transform teaching and learning across a diverse range of subjects. In addition, ongoing investment has been made to the whole site - recently by upgrading science laboratories, STEM workrooms and the construction of a sixth form centre.
