About you:

Sunmarke School has an exciting opportunity for a Head of University and Career Guidance to join our team in August 2023. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who can prepare young students for their choices and transitions in education, training, and career planning. This is a key position in the Secondary School to ensure that all students receive the best guidance and preparation for the competitive post-secondary environment. The successful candidate will be part of a committed and knowledgeable department within the school.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant fields

· Either a teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed. or equivalent), appropriate university

counselling qualification or significant experience in a counselling or university

admissions role.

·  Experience working in university guidance or admissions

·  Familiarity with the admission process in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe,

Australia & Canada

·  In-depth study and understanding of specific information such as the application

process university rankings and admission requirements.

·  Teachers with university support experience are also welcome to apply

·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively

with pupils, staff, and parents.

·  The ability to work effectively as part of a team and to establish and maintain good

relationships with the Head of Secondary &/or the Head of Sixth Form.

·  Dedication and commitment to providing the best possible advice to our pupils and

parents.

·  The ability to multi-task, and effectively prioritise and delegate tasks where necessary

and appropriate.

·   Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and monitor progress

within fixed time frames.

·   The ability to work accurately and calmly and show resilience when under pressure.

·  Strong passion for education and pleasure in working with young people.
